Regular exercise is an essential part of maintaining good health. It even helps boost your immune system. However, if you regularly attend a fitness facility, be aware that not everyone has as good hygiene habits as you may have and germs may be lurking everywhere, leaving you with a bad case of diarrhea. What to look for in a clean fitness facility:
- Is there dust? This is an indicator that they rarely clean things.
- Is there mold? This may be visible in the shower area.
- Are there broken or cracked tiles? Bacteria accumulates here.
- Are there water damaged ceiling tiles? This is a mold indicator.
- Do they provide disinfecting wipes? Be sure to do your part by wiping down the equipment handles when you are finished.
Some things you could do as well to help protect yourself ... wash your hands frequently, use a clean towel when you sit down, wear flip-flops when you shower.
